Litzman to ask US to give Israel swine flu vaccine from its stock

If the swine flu vaccination currently being developed is approved, Deputy Health Minister Ya'acov Litzman will ask the US to give Israel enough of the vaccine from its stock for the Israelis in the high-risk category, Israel Radio reported Wednesday. Litzman is set to meet with his US counterpart Bill Corr next week. On Wednesday, he met with representatives from Sarel, the largest private company that supplies equipment to nearly all of Israel's hospitals. Litzman demanded that when the swine flu vaccine is approved, the company give him the required amount without delay. He warned that should it fail to meet his request, the Health Ministry would cease making purchases from the company.
