Livni appoints former TV anchor as spokeswoman

Justice Minister Tzipi Livni announced Wednesday that she has appointed the former anchor of the Channel 1 news program Erev Hadash Mia Bengel as her new spokeswoman.

Bengel will replace veteran media adviser Merav Parsi-Tzadok, who served as Livni's spokeswoman during the campaign. Bengel has held several key posts in journalism and public relations, including diplomatic and political correspondent of the Maariv newspaper, and spokeswoman for the Labor Party, Geneva Initiative and MKs Zehava Gal-On and Ophir Paz-Pines. She was part of Meretz's campaign team in the election.
