Livni: Israel must make better ties with moderate Arab states to counter extremists

Justice Minister Tzipi Livni called for Israel to lead diplomatic initiatives to better connect itself to the West and moderates in the Arab world in light of extremist terrorist groups operating in the region

"We fight relentlessly against the violent extremists; but the moderates are the ones we reach peace with," she said at a counter-terrorism conference hosted by the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya.

Livni rejected what she said was the international tendency to urge dialogue with terrorists in order to understand them and thereby stop their actions. She added that such maneuvers are interpreted by terrorists as weakness.

"I say, regarding terror, there's no dialogue, there's no understanding and there's nothing to comprehend about suicide bombers and decapitators," she charged.
