Livni on Labor split: This is a hopeful day for Israel

Opposition leader Tzipi Livni said Monday that, "This is a bad day for the Netanyahu government but I believe that this is also a hopeful day for Israel."

Speaking after Defense Minister Ehud Barak and 5 other MKs' split from the Labor party Monday, Livni added that: "Today, more clearly than ever, we have seen which representatives are users of shady political wielding, and which are our representatives of truth. Netanyahu's government is a narrow government that falls apart from within, lacking any other choice, due to political decay and an absence of either a vision or path."

"Kadima calls today again and out loud, crystal clear and stronger than ever, for elections," Livni told at a Kadima meeting.
