Livni praises gov't for rejecting bill against future Palestinian prisoner release

Justice Minister Tzipi Livni praised the government on Sunday after it rejected a bill attempting to block the future release of Palestinian prisoners as a goodwill measure for peace talks.
After the Ministerial Committee for Legislation stuck down the bill proposed by Bayit Yehudi MK Orit Struck, Livni, on Facebook, said the government had "acted in accordance with national interests rather than cynical partisan interests or the instruction of Yesha (Council of Jewish Communities in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip) rabbis".
"This government promotes a political process that is of Israel's national and security interest," Livni said.
