Livni: Spate of criminal assassinations is 'a plague to the state'

Justice Minister Tzipi Livni on Monday discussed the tools her office was giving to police to better combat gangland crime.
Speaking at Hatnua's weekly faction meeting, Livni called the recent spate of criminal assassinations "a plague to the state."
Livni also discussed the peace process for which she serves as Israel's chief negotiator, welcoming Sunday's meeting between Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and a delegation of Israeli students. The Justice Minister stated that she was uplifted by the fact that young people were expressing an interest in the peace process and asking questions about what a deal with the Palestinians would entail.
