Man, 21, drowns off Haifa coast after trying to save friend

A 21-year-old man drowned late Sunday night after jumping into the Mediterranean Sea, off the coast of Haifa, to save a friend. According to reports, the man disappeared shortly after entering the water. He was later found washed up on the beach by family members who were out searching for him. Magen David Adom paramedics pronounced him dead on the scene.
