Man, 34, indicted for attempted murder of Tel Aviv woman

The Tel Aviv District Attorney’s office filed an indictment on Sunday against 34-year-old Idan Anouri from Ramat Gan for the attempted murder of a young woman in Tel Aviv last February. According to the charge sheet, Anouri tried to kill the woman by stabbing her in retaliation for her having him fired from an NGO they both worked for.
The indictment stated that Anouri had waited in ambush for the woman to get off her bus, when he attacked her with a knife in order to kill her. The DA’s office argued that Anouri had carefully planned the attack, studying the woman’s schedule and purchasing a fake phone card and purchasing a motorcycle using false ID, in order to cover up his tracks. Anouril allegedly stole the woman’s purse in order to make the crime look like a random robbery.
