Man granted early release after wife killed in car crash

A parole board on Wednesday granted the early release of a man whose wife died over the Passover holiday in a head-on collision on highway 40.
Israel Prison Service spokeswoman Sivan Weitzman said Wednesday that Eran Bar-Mucha, serving a three-year sentence for fraud will be released on April 19, six months before he was originally set to be released. She added that his original conviction also included a violent charge, though not anything severe.
The decision to release Bar-Mucha from Eshel prison comes only a couple weeks after his wife Ortal was killed in an accident on Highway 40, when she hit another woman's car head-on. Both cars overturned and the woman driving the other car was also killed, and both of Ortal's children were seriously wounded and evacuated by helicopter to Soroka Hospital.
Since the accident, Bar-Mucha has been allowed to visit his children at Soroka Hospital for a few hours every day. His children are expected to be released from the hospital this week.
