Man plummets to death in Judean Desert valley, Japanese tourist drowns in Dead Sea

A man in his 60s died Friday after he fell from a height of 50 meters while hiking in Wadi Qelt in the Judean Desert.
Paramedics and Air Force rescue personnel arrived to the scene to extricate the man from the valley, and performed live-saving techniques on him before pronouncing his death.
Earlier Friday, a 66-year-old tourist from Japan drowned after apparently inhaling large amounts water off the coast of the Dead Sea's Mineral Beach.
Magen David Adom paramedics pronounced the woman's death following attempts to revive her.
