A man locked up his girlfriend at a Netanya hotel for two weeks and subjected her to a string of brutal sexual and physical abuses, police said on Sunday.
Patrol officers were called to the Carmel hotel in Netanya on Saturday afternoon by the woman, who took advantage of a moment alone to contact emergency services.
"She was sodomized and raped by the suspect repeatedly. He poured hot oil on her and threatened her with a knife," Supt. Dror Freeman, of the Netanya police station, told The Jerusalem Post. "He also kicked and punched her throughout," Freeman added.
The suspect, 37, was arrested and brought to the Netanya police station for questioning. "He denies committing the offenses," Freeman said.
"The suspect has been arrested before for domestic violence offenses," Freeman added. "He did not resist arrest when we arrived."
He will be brought before the Netanya Magistrate's Court for a remand hearing on Sunday afternoon.
