Man rapes woman at knifepoint after meeting her at bar

Yiftach subdistrict police on Saturday arrested a 26-year-old man suspected of raping a 19-year-old woman at knife point in his apartment in south Tel Aviv.

Police said the man met the woman at a bar earlier in the evening and they returned to his apartment on Har Zion street in south Tel Aviv. After they entered the apartment the man raped the woman at knifepoint until eventually letting her leave after her hand was cut by the knife.

The man left the apartment around the same time and was arrested not long after by Yiftach subdistrict police, Tel Aviv police said Sunday, adding that they will seek an extension of the suspect's remand while they continue the investigation.
