Man who strangled his ex-wife gets life sentence

The Jerusalem District Court on Monday sentenced Pinhas Baruch to life in prison for murdering his ex-wife Zivah about a year ago. The court said Baruch strangled her after she had rejected his requests to get back together. According to the judges, the fact that the defendant had expressed deep regret could not annul the serious offense he had committed. Prior to the incident, neither Pinhas nor Zivah had ever filed a complaint to authorities.
