Mashaal in Cairo: Schalit deal still a long way off

There is still a ways to go before any agreement is reached on exchanging Palestinian prisoners for captured IDF soldier Gilad Schalit, Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal said Sunday. Speaking to reporters in Cairo, Mashaal said that ere was "still not a short path to go" before negotiations would come to fruition, despite the new addition of German mediation. Mashaal met with Egyptian intelligence chief Omar Suleiman on a possible deal late Saturday night, and was set to meet with him again later Sunday to discuss reconciliation between Palestinian factions.
