Massive US delegation to arrive for Peres funeral

WASHINGTON -- The White House announced a 32-person delegation will represent the United States at the funeral of Shimon Peres on Friday, including US President Barack Obama, former President William Jefferson Clinton and Secretary of State John Kerry.
The list includes 19 members of Congress, including Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi of California, Steny Hoyer of Maryland, Charles Rangel, Jerrold Nadler, Lee Zeldin, Steve Israel and Eliot Engel of New York, and Ted Deutch of Florida, among others.
From the White House, National Security Advisor Susan Rice and her deputy, Ben Rhodes, will attend, along with the head of the National Economic Council, Jeffrey Zients, and special assistant Robert Malley.
Frank Lowenstein, who serves as special envoy to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, as well as Martin Indyk, Stephen Hadley and Stuart Eizenstat will also attend.
The only representative in the delegation from the Jewish American community outside of government is Alan Solow, chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations and a longtime friend of the president.
