Matisyahu cancels Jerusalem show after postponement

Jewish-American reggae rapper Matisyahu on Thursday cancelled his October 13 performance at Jerusalem’s Sultan’s Pool.
Earlier in the day, he had planned to postpone the show and perform as part of the festivities surrounding the 50th anniversary of the reunification of Jerusalem in May.
Before nixing the appearance, the rapper had released a statement saying: “Dear fans, I was really looking forward to the upcoming show in Jerusalem this October, but when we got the proposal to be part of the 50 years festivities for the Reunification of Jerusalem this coming May 2017, the band and I had no doubt that we have to be part of it."
"I want to thank the fans for all the love, and we’ll wait patiently for May. I love Israel and Jerusalem and look forward to seeing you all in May. I would also like to send my condolences to the Peres family and the people of Israel that lost a unique person. I had the honor to meet him last year at a meeting that I will always remember,” he said before announcing the cancellation.
