MDA trains locals in Haiti to vaccinate refugees

Magen David Adom experts have begun to train locals in Haiti to vaccinate refugees against infectious diseases that have broken out due to poor sanitation about last month’s horrific earthquake and the large numbers of unburied dead, MDA said on Sunday.
About 140,000 refugees will be vaccinated against diphtheria, tetanus and measles under an emergency program initiated by the Haitian health ministry, UNICEF and the Pan-American Health Organization.
MDA is participating in the effort as part of the International Federation of the Red Cross, and its experts will remain in Haiti for two more weeks.
