Mediterranean assembly to Hamas: Abide by Quartet standards

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) countries meeting in Croatia on Sunday called on Hamas to recognize the Quartet principles and on the Palestinian Authority to return to negotiations, an official press release said.
The Assembly, comprised of 23 countries and the PA, also called for an end to the Israeli Palestinian conflict.
According to Deputy Knesset Speaker MK Majallie Whbee, who is representing Israel at the meeting, "The issue of settlements was not mentioned in the concluding document [of the meeting] and it is likely that the Palestinian Authority will take issue with that later."
