The Syrian Government said in Geneva on Monday that its meeting with the UN Special Envoy for Syria was "positive and constructive".
Speaking at the press conference following an hour-long meeting with the special envoy Staffan de Mistura, the head of the Syrian Government delegation Bashar al-Jaafari said the meeting was "positive and constructive" and stressed the importance of laying the groundwork before achieving a substantive success.
"We submitted ideas and views regarding basic elements for a political solution in the hope that these ideas will enrich his diplomatic efforts when he meets with other delegations," said al-Jaafari who is also the Syrian ambassador to UN.
