Meretz's Gal-On rebukes government after 'heinous' Jerusalem terror attack

Meretz chairwoman Zehava Gal-On rebuked the government after a terrorist rammed into crowds near the Jerusalem light rail on Wednesday, calling for restraint from right-wing ministers in light of the situation.

"The car attack was a serious and heinous crime. Unfortunately, the 'conflict management' government continues to treat to the harsh reality in Jerusalem like shrapnel in the behind and the (government) members' responses range on the axis between ignoring the situation and provocations aimed at igniting the area," she said in a statement.

"I call on the prime minister to restrain government members - [Economy Minister Naftali] Bennett, [Foreign Minister Avigdor] Liberman and [Public Security Minister Yitzhak] Aharonovitch from rushing to agitate, incite and call cold-blooded murder," she added.
