Michael Oren submits official pledge to US deputy sec. of state

Dr. Michael Oren, Israel's designated ambassador to the United States, has submitted a copy of his pledge to the United States' Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg, Thursday overnight. According to protocol, Oren can begin serving officially following the submission, even though the pledge is yet to be submitted to US President Barack Obama. Oren said it was a great honor to be appointed by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's designated envoy to the United States, which he called a great ally of Israel.
