MK Akunis voices opposition to peace process, advocates continued settlement building

Deputy minister for liaison with the Knesset Ophir Akunis (Likud Beytenu) on Monday voiced his opposition towards the establishment of a Palestinian state and his advocation of continued settlement construction outside the Green Line.

In an interview with Israeli Channel 7, the Likud Beytenu MK stated that he was against any sort of negotiation that may lead to the establishment of a Palestinian State, or to any Israeli withdrawals or dismantling of communities.

He added that "[settlement] construction continues, but not enough."

Referring to inevitable European Union objection to settlement construction, Akunis stated: "Our building and growth will not be determined by any other ministry, department, or foreign minister from any foreign capital in the world."
