MK Kara is caught with a handgun in the Knesset

A routine security check in the Knesset turned out to be anything but routine Monday afternoon when guards discovered a handgun in the building. The gun was found in the personal bag of MK Ayoub Kara (Likud). Knesset regulations forbid the entry of firearms into the building.
Kara told the Knesset television channel that he has had a license for the gun for 12 years and carries it with him everywhere. "I always have the dilemma whether to leave the gun in [my] car or to bring it into the Knesset. Considering that regulations forbid leaving a handgun in a car, I brought it into the building."
Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin ordered the Knesset officer to open an investigation into the incident and to update security procedures accordingly.
