MK Shai asks Knesset to look into gov't's slight of FM

MK Nahman Shai (Kadima) accused the government of "bypassing the Foreign Ministry and...damage done to its standing and task." He called on the chairman of the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Tzahi Hanegbi, to open discussions into the issue.

"The fact that the prime minister and the defense minister joined together to act behind the back of the foreign minister is proof that the two haven't learned a thing [from their past behavior], said Shai.

The Kadima MK also stated that the country's foreign relations should be conducted through the Foreign Ministry, and that bypassing the proper channels of communication only hurts Israel's interests in foreign policy matters.
