Member of Knesset Ahmed Tibi (United Arab List) on Tuesday said the automatic blame that the Israeli media assigned to an Arab in the shooting in a Beersheba bank that killed four was racist. In a written statement Tibi stated: "The Israeli media's automatic blame of Arabs in Rahat (a Beduin town near Beersheba) to the horrible killing in Beersheba is stereotypical racism, revealing an element [in the media] that hoped that the murderer would be an Arab. Broadcasting a malicious false accusation demands an immediate apology." "These actions strengthen hatred of Arabs which is not the media's role," the member of Knesset added.
