MKs to be able to hire extra aides next week

Lawmakers will be able to hire an additional aide in 2016, the Knesset House Committee officially decided on Monday.
The committee rejected the recommendations of the public committee on MKs' conditions, deciding that legislators who are not ministers or deputy ministers will be able to hire a third aide, and committee chairpeople will be able to hire a fourth.
MKs said that two aides are not enough for them to answer the many public petitions they receive.
The change will cost the Knesset about NIS 20m. per year.
