More rabid animals detected in North

Two more cases of rabies in animals were reported by the Health Ministry on Sunday after several cases in recent weeks. This time, a wounded jackal was found in the Ganei Huga area of the Beit She'an Valley on July 24. Three days later, the jackal died and was found to have been infected with the rabies virus. On July 31, another jackal attacked a man at the Beit Yosef settlement but was not caught. On July 29, a female white Pyrenean mountain dog barged into Kibbutz Dan in the middle of the night and bit pets. The dog was caught and found to be rabid. The ministry called on anyone who had contact with the rabid animals to report immediately to the district health office in the area or elsewhere.
