More than 10,000 injured in hit-and-run between 2000-2009

At least 10,849 were injured as a result of hit-and-run traffic accidents between 2000 and 2009, a new Or Yarok Association for Safer Driving in Israel report said. Of those injured, 841 were in critical condition and 187 were killed.
The results, which were collected and compiled by Or Yarok, said that an average of 1,085 people were injured and 19 killed every year between 2000 and 2009. The main victims of such accidents were pedestrians and cyclists.
