Former Defense Minister Moshe (Bogie) Ya'alon announced that he is forming a new party under his leadership that will be running in the next elections on April 9 2019.
In a Facebook video Ya'alon said that he will be leading a "new political force" for the next elections "which are so incredibly important for the future of Israel."
"On the list which I will present soon, I will present you with the good, moral Israel with clean hands. It will be a party without  any spins," the former Likud minister said regarding the candidates with whom he will be running for Knesset, adding that he will choose experienced and trustworthy candidates.

In a clear signal to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Ya'alon called on other parties to form alliances to present an alternative to the current government.
"This is the time for us to take responsibility. My entire life I've been a soldier of the country," he continued, adding that "The time has come for a different leadership."
Ya'alon was IDF Chief of Staff between 2002 and 2005.
In 2008 he joined the Likud and became defense minister in 2013, serving until his resignation in 2016, citing disagreements with Netanyahu.
