Throughout Thursday, Israeli moviegoers can enjoy their favorite films for just NIS 10. It’s the fourth time that Movie Time will be celebrated with this special deal, with theaters from the YES Planet, Cinema City, Rav Chen, Lev and Globus Max theater chains participating. 3D and 4DX films will cost NIS 14.
All movies currently in theaters will be included in this deal, as well as those opening today, including American Pastoral, the adaptation of the Philip Roth novel about an American Jewish father whose daughter becomes a Sixties radical, which was directed by and stars the Scottish actor Ewan McGregor. Israeli movies will also be part of this event, including Rama Burshtein’s Through The Wall, a comedy about an ultra-Orthodox young woman who is determined to get married in the near future.
Danny Cafri, chairman of the association of movie theaters in Israel, said that Movie Time was meant to encourage Israelis to get out and enjoy the movies, without having to worry about prices.
Tickets to a movie usually cost between NIS 39-45, and prices for 3D and 4DX movies start at NIS 45.
Movie Time is not to be confused with Israeli Cinema Day, an event in September in which only Israeli movies are discounted.
