Multiple Dimona residents diagnosed with infectious Legionnaires' disease

Some eight residents of Dimona who were recently admitted to the Soroka Medical Center were diagnosed with an infectious disease caused by the Legionella bacteria, a press release from Soroka mentioned.
Of those, five patients are currently hospitalized, one of whom is in critical condition, two in moderate condition and two others in light condition.
The Legionella bacteria can lead to severe inflammation of the lungs and even to a multi-system failure in certain cases.
