Netanyahu asks ministers to approve Shin Bet tracking extension

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to ask the government to approve an extension of the tracking being carried out by the Shin Bet as part of the fight against the coronavirus outbreak.
The Knesset Intelligence Subcommittee on Thursday extended surveillance of coronavirus-infected citizens by the Shin Bet (Israel Security Service) for five days, keeping the program on a short leash.
This past Sunday, the High Court ruled that the program must end within weeks if a new Knesset law is not passed to extend and regulate it.
