Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu called on Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Monday to speak at the Knesset and recognize Israel's right to exist as a Jewish state.
"We can't be expected to recognize a Palestinian state without the Palestinians recognizing Israel as the Jewish state," Netanyahu said at a special Knesset session held for French President Francois Hollande's visit to the Israeli parliament.
"Lets end the freeze [in peace talks]," the prime minister said, offering to come to Ramallah to speak in front of the Palestinian people.
