Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Saturday evening that he will postpone the announcement of a new Communications Minister in order to "prepare" for US President Donald Trump's upcoming visit to Israel.
According to a statement released by the Prime Minister's Office, Netanyahu said that the announcement would be made next Sunday.
Trump, who is expected to arrive on Monday, will meet with the prime minister in Jerusalem where the two will reportedly discuss how to progress peace negotiations and security matters.
The Communications portfolio, temporarily held by Likud MK Tzachi Hanegbi, is expected be offered to Tourism Minister Yariv Levin. It remains unclear, however, if Levin will accept the position.
