Netanyahu orders reassessment of contact with EU institutions

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday instructed the Foreign Ministry to reassess the involvement of European Union institutions in the diplomatic process between Israel and the Palestinians.
Until the reevaluation process is complete, the premier ordered to suspend diplomatic contacts with EU bodies and their representatives.
Netanyahu, who also serves a foreign minister, made the directive in light of the EU's decision to publish legislation guidelines on labeling Israeli settlement products.
The Prime Minister's Office underlined in a statement, however, that Israel maintains diplomatic contacts with individual European countries such as Germany, the UK and France.
