Netanyahu praises British government's anti-BDS decree

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the British government on Wednesday for announcing restrictions against local townships which seek to boycott Israeli products.
Local authorities and public-sector organizations in Britain will be prevented from boycotting Israeli suppliers under new government rules, and those who do could face severe penalties, the government in London said on Wednesday.
Netanyahu commended the government’s position during a meeting in Jerusalem with Cabinet Office minister Matthew Hancock.
“I’d like to give special mention to the British government for its refusal to discriminate against Israel and Israelis,” the premier said. “I commend you for standing alongside the only democracy in the Middle East.”
