Netanyahu: Other countries considering recognizing Jerusalem as capital

Israel is in contact with other nations about the possibility of recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday, just hours after US President Donald Trump's historic announcement.
"We are in contact with other countries that will recognize similar recognition, and I have no doubt that as soon as the US Embassy moves to Jerusalem and before that, more embassies will also move," Netanyahu said at a digital diplomacy conference at the Foreign Ministry.
Netanyahu did not reveal which states Israel was in contact with.
The Czech Republic announced Wednesday evening that it recognizes west Jerusalem as Israel's capital, something Russia did last April. There were also numerous media reports that the Philippines has also expressed interested in granting Jerusalem recognition as Israel's capital.
