Netanyahu says was forced into giving Lapid finance portfolio

In an interview with Channel 2 on Tuesday Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his predecessor Ehud Olmert was to blame for the skyrocketing housing prices.
He said that under the previous administration (which Netanyahu replaced in 2009) building came to a halt in the center and the Tel Aviv Metropolitan Area, first causing real estate prices to jump.Asked by his interviewers if he bears any responsibility for the housing crisis, he noted as a failure his "inability to rally the public" and then translate that support "into party mandates."
After the 2013 elections, Likud was no longer a large party, the premier lamented, thus paving the way for smaller factions to make up the now-dissolved government, which "forced" Netanyahu to bring in Yesh Atid.
Netanyahu said he had "no choice," but to give Lapid the finance portfolio.
