Netanyahu speaks against separation of women in public

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu made comments Monday supporting the right of women to share public spaces with men, saying is Israel was no place "to exclude anyone, certainly not half the population."

Netanyahu said that women must have security in public spaces, and that such securities were rooted in democratic and Jewish values.

"Anyone who violates the rights of women, violates the principles of the State of Israel," the prime minister declared, adding that there are still women in Israel who suffer from physical, psychological, and verbal abuse.
