Netanyahu to Stern: Chauvanistic statements are simply not appropriate

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blasted Yesh Atid MK Elazar Stern's comments about Culture and Sports Minister Miri Regev, in a meeting on Thursday with the Israeli Judoka champions.

"I have heard his chauvinistic comments and this is simply inappropriate," said Netanyahu.

Netanyahu was referring to Stern;s implication earlier in the week that Regev achieved her high military rank through sexual favors.

"Stern's comments are an indictment of the IDF's commanders and the advancement of women in the army," Stern said.
