Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu attempted to appeal to the evicted residents of Amona while urging non-violence as the operation to clear the illegal West Bank outpost neared completion on Thursday afternoon. "We are in difficult times. We made every effort to avoid reaching this moment, but ultimately we must uphold the legal order because we are a law-abiding country," he said. "All of you, and I, share in the great pain of the families who were forced to leave their homes and had to abandon their lives, and we all understand how great the pain is."While urging those who protested the Amona eviction to respect law enforcement authorities, the premier also reiterated his Wednesday pledge to devise plans to establish a new Israeli settlement in the West Bank for the first time in over two decades.
