Assistant-Chief Moti Cohen will take over as commander of the Central District of the Israel Police, it was announced Monday, less than a month after the former commander resigned amid a highly-publicized scandal.
Cohen replaces Asst.- Ch. Bruno Stein, who resigned in September following a
Haaretz article claiming he was seen at a private party at the home of attorney Ronel Fisher, currently under investigation for bribing police officials to drop charges against him.

Police on Monday also announced that Asst.-Chief Moshe “Chico” Edri, a former officer in the National Police Headquarters and the Traffic Police, will take over as head of the Jerusalem District, in place of Commander Asst.-Ch. Yossi Pariente.
