New Israel Fund accuses rightists of incitement, encouraging political violence

The New Israel Fund, the umbrella group that provides financial assistance to numerous left-wing organizations that have been critical of the government and the military’s conduct in the Palestinian territories, unveiled a provocative ad campaign designed to hit back at a right-wing organization’s accusations that it operates as “a foreign agent.”
The campaign, which features an Internet video as well as banners near highways and at bus stops, enlists the image of slain premier Yitzhak Rabin, who is characterized as “a foreign agent that has already been taken care of [by the right wing].”
In November 1995, Rabin was assassinated in Tel Aviv by a far-right nationalist opposed to his peace policies.
