New Labor leader announces launch of general elections campaign

Newly elected Labor leader Avi Gabbay announced the launch of his party's campaign for the leadership of the country. Speaking to reporters at his campaign headquarters a day after his surprise victory in the Labor Party primaries, Gabbay hailed the win as a sign that the Israeli public was eager for new leadership and vowed to lead the camp that would replace Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Gabbay called on all Israelis who want to bring about change to register to the Labor Party and set a goal of recruiting 100,000 people before the next elections.
