New police commissioner Alsheich breaks leg, Sau to carry on as acting chief

The ceremony marking Roni Alsheich's appointment as Israel Police's new commissioner, slated for Monday, has been delayed following an accident in which the incoming inspector-general broke his leg.
Alsheich received medical treatment Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer following the accident, which occurred as he was leaving his home on Sunday morning.
Acting police commissioner Asst.-Ch. Benzi Sau will carry on his role until a new date marking Alsheich's appointment is set, according to police.
"We wish the incoming commissioner a speedy and full recovery," it added.
