New Right's Kahana aims for 15 seats in upcoming election

Matan Kahana, New Right's newest candidate, predicted success for the party in the upcoming elections."We are going to get 15 seats," Kahana said in an interview on Army Radio Sunday. "Not including Likud, our party is the real ideological right."Kahana joined Education Minister Naftali Bennett and Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked's new secular-religious party on Friday. The two broke off from Bayit Yehudi in December.Kahana is the fifth member of the New Right, after Jerusalem Post contributor Caroline Glick and the first-ever deaf candidate for Knesset, Shirley Pinto, who joined over the last weeks.Kahana is a former combat pilot and was commander of the F-16 squadron. He is also a graduate of the elite commando unit Sayeret Matkal, where he started his military career and where he served alongside Naftali Bennett in the early 90s.
