Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz informed Rona Ramon, widow and mother of former IAF pilots Ilan and Assaf Ramon, that a new regional airport being built in Timna, near Eilat, would be named after her husband and son on Sunday, Israel Radio reported.
Ilan Ramon was a famous Israeli pilot who participated in the daring bombing raid on Iraq's Osirak reactor as well as Israel's first astronaut.
His son, Assaf, was killed last year when his fighter jet crashed during a training run.
