Nigeria: 3 refineries closed due to sabotage

ABUJA, Nigeria — Nigeria's state-run oil company on Thursday said that oil pipeline attacks have forced it to shut down three of its four refineries in the oil-rich West African nation
A spokesman of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation said in a statement that its refineries in the cities of Warri, Port Harcourt and Kaduna had been shut down because "pipelines have been severed."
The chief of the state-run oil company said in the statement that the rate of vandalism was "alarming."
He asked the army to provide more support to the oil company in order to protect its pipelines.
