NJ Gov. Christie says he’s headed to Israel in 2012

Chris Christie said he will travel to Israel as part of his first official overseas trip as New Jersey governor.
Christie made the announcement Monday after meeting with ambassador to the United States, Michael Oren, The Star-Ledger reported.
"We look forward to continuing to strengthen our ties," Christie said. "There’s a great, great, great long-term connection between New Jersey and Israel, and I intend to make that as strong as I can along with the ambassador and other important folks in the Israeli government."
The visit will probably take place in the spring, and will include his wife and children, he said.
Mark Levenson, chairman of the New Jersey-Israel Commission, said the governor would probably meet with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu during the trip, The Star-Ledger reported.
