No driving tests as instructors protest

The hopes of students planning to get their driver's licenses Monday were dashed when nation's driving instructors called off all driving exams to attend a protest over a labor dispute.
The instructors gathered outside the Transportation Ministry to protest their contract conditions, which they say are illegal.
Eyal Aviav, the chairman of the driving instructor's union, said there was "no choice" but to demonstrate in light of the "absolute disconnect" with Transportation Ministry, whose leaders it blamed for "any public harm" the walk-out caused.
